Yesterday I emailed this out to freelancers who are not yet a judge, like you.
Situation:
I believe from our previous contact that you are currently a freelancer or you are interested in joining my email list for freelance leads.
Recap:
I am not a headhunter or recruiter. I am the director of the American Ad Books Showcase Awards (AABSA). We promote ad agencies and design firms through online creative contests.
I contact over 100 creatives, CDs and agency decision makers every day. This is part of my AABSA responsibility. Through these connections (over 22,000 on Linked In), I often receive requests to contact freelancers.
The Idea:
I just want a simple way to quickly and efficiently pass this information on to you.
No Strings:
You can contact all or none of my leads. You can work full time, or on projects. I don’t want a cut, and I don’t want any contracts. Your promotion of yourself is up to you, and you will get the job if your timing and talents match up. I have no knowledge of rates or project fees. Please do not ask.
Fee:
As I said, this is not my day job. So I have kept the monthly fee down to just $10 a month to cover expenses only. I will send around a sign up form in the next week. Of course you may discontinue at any time.
I have been thinking of dividing the list of freelancers into two: One list for current and active judges, the other for those who don't judge regularly.
You may want to get a head start and judge the open categories now.
